“EMS works better than lifting weights,” Marcus Ringler, Easy Fit director and EMS training expert, explained to Khaleej Times.

“Twenty minutes of EMS is equivalent to four hours in the gym,” he added, emphasizing the time efficiency of this training method.

Raise interest

Marcus, who has extensive experience with EMS training in Germany and the UAE, has noticed a lot of interest. He said: “EMS is constantly evolving, and this growing interest is largely driven by the need to find fitness solutions that fit the busy schedule of the UAE population.”

According to Marcus, EMS training appeals to many people – from those who struggle to find time for long-term physical activity to those who prefer a private, personal space.

“We have a lot of people who come in and say they don’t have time to exercise. With EMS, once or twice a week is all it takes,” Marcus explained.

Common EMS clients include busy administrators, parents and people who may not feel comfortable working in a busy gym.

The training is gentle on the joints, reducing the chances of injuries common in high-impact activities like CrossFit. In addition, each EMS session includes individualized training, which ensures safety and improves the effectiveness of each exercise.

Laiba Ashfaq, a physiotherapist at Aman Lil Afia Clinic, emphasized the importance of EMS in rehabilitation. He said: “EMS allows the muscles to work without putting unnecessary stress on the joints, helping recovery and helping to rebuild the muscles.”

These capabilities make EMS a valuable tool for people recovering from injuries or looking to improve their athletic performance.

It is not a traditional gym

Although EMS training provides impressive results, experts warn against relying on it solely for exercise needs.

“EMS should not be considered a substitute for traditional exercise,” Ashfaq said, adding: “It does not provide the same level of stress that is needed for general exercise and health. beautiful.”

Swapna Mary John, a clinical dietitian at Dubai International Hospital, agreed, noting that EMS can complement traditional exercise but should not completely replace it.

He emphasized the importance of traditional diet and exercise for a holistic approach to exercise. “EMS training can help build muscle and lose fat, but maintaining a balanced diet is important for optimal results,” Swapna explained, adding: ” Proper nutrition is important to supplement the benefits from EMS. People should focus on a diet that includes adequate protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats to support their muscle growth and overall health.”

Concerns about safety

Despite its growing popularity, EMS training is sometimes met with skepticism. Marcus says he often encounters concerns about its effectiveness and safety. “Some people think it doesn’t work, but it’s usually because they haven’t been exercising consistently or following a proper diet,” he explained, adding: “Like any exercise regimen exercise, achieving the desired results with EMS requires dedication, proper technique, and proper nutrition.”

Safety concerns about using electrical currents in EMS training are also common. However, Marcus maintains that EMS is safe and effective when performed under professional supervision using certified materials. He recommended that anyone interested in the EMS training manual take a trial lesson to see its benefits first.

Marcus has shared many success stories from clients who have achieved significant results with EMS. In another case, a woman from Dubai, who weighed 130kg when she started her EMS training, reduced her weight to 85kg after six to eight months of regular classes. of EMS combined with a healthy diet.

“These stories are amazing, but what pleases me the most is when clients tell me that they no longer have problems like back pain. EMS can really make a difference,” Marcus said, showing the potential of this training method .
